There’s no need to lose long words about Karl Ratzer. For decades, the Viennese guitarist has ranked among the global top, just like composer and double bass player Peter Herbert, recognised as one of Austria’s most demanded and competent musicians. Together with Margarethe Herbert’s eXtracello, the “highly extravagant outsiders in string quartet playing,” here a most unconventional formation populates the stage.
